False Eyelashes
Thursday, September 30th, 2010To compliment accessories such as coloured contact lenses, try out some of the fabulous designs of false eyelashes currently available. False eyelashes are superb for making costumes and characters come to life, they come in an amazing range of colours and frame the eyes beautifully whether you are wearing contact lenses or not. If you are wearing contact lenses with a costume for example, then make sure you put them in before placing the false eyelashes on. Don’t be afraid to trim false eyelashes if they are too long for your liking, you can enjoy them anyway you like.
Applying False Eyelashes
To apply false eyelashes is very easy, simply follow these steps:
1. If the lash is wider than your eye, trim one side of it lash by lash
2. You can trim individual lashes to make them look more natural, the lashes towards the outer corner of the eye should be longer
3. Ensure there is hardly any gap between your real eyelashes and the fake lashes, the lash length should vary slightly
4. Squeeze some of the free eyelash glue onto the back of your hand and run the eyelash along it
5. Now blow softly from edge to edge, this makes the glue less runny and easier to apply
6. Pick up the lashes with some tweezers and bring it as close to your natural lash line as possible
7. Then press from end to end with your fingers and hold from 30 seconds to a minute until the glue dries
8. When the glue is set you will be able to remove your fingertips and the lashes should stay in place
9. Use an eyelash curler if required
10. You can now apply mascara whilst pressing your finger behind the fake lashes, this will bond the false lashes with your own
11. Lastly if there are any gaps between the false eyelashes and your own then you can fill them in with eyeliner
Removing False Eyelashes
To remove false eyelashes is very quick and easy
1. Always remove false eyelashes before sleeping
2. Wet a washcloth with warm water and hold it over the lashes, this will loosen the glue
3. You can use petroleum jelly to help dislodge the lashes if required
4. Take care not to pull too hard, as you do not want to remove your natural lashes
5. You can then store the lashes in the original packaging to allow them to keep shape for next time.
False Eyelashes Care Guidelines
• If any false eyelash glue gets into your eyes, remove the eyelashes and wash your eyes with water, dry before re-applying
• Don’t use too much glue, only a thin strip
• To avoid contamination make sure the false eye lashes tweezers and hands are clean
• Never use somebody else’s worn eye lashes without sanitizing
• Be aware that if the lashes have glitter on, this could get into your eye and will need washing out
• To avoid awkwardness, you can apply black eyeliner before sticking on the lashes
