Investing in a pair of non prescription coloured contact lenses can be fun and exciting. The right choice is a match made in heaven when you choose a colour that embraces your natural beauty. Exotic colours such as pink or violet are tempting, but generally going for a pair of non prescription coloured contacts that enhance your features is best. If you have dark hair and features go for a vibrant blue. A blond or someone with fair hair can add drama by wearing dark colours such as grey, brown and dark greens. With the popularity of coloured contact lenses soaring we have a wonderful assortment of colours and styles. These options include colour tints, enhancement tints, solid colours, bold designs and natural finishes.
Transforming Your Eye Colour

Big Eyes Cool Blue
If you’re looking to change your eye colour the natural finish and solid colour tints like the lenses to the right are the best options. If you are a natural chocolate brown, you can now become a vibrant blue. Your actual eye color will be affected, but each of the two contact types does so in a different manner. If you have dark colored eyes you will need to invest in a pair of opaque coloured contact lenses like the ones to the left. They are offered in many colours and since they are a solid colour, they cover naturally dark eyes well. A few colour options include darker green, brown, blue, lavender and grey. People with light-coloured eyes are encouraged to purchase enhancement tints. These enhance your natural colour and also come in a wide array of colour options too.

Brown 3 Tone Natural Finish Lenses
You may worry that colour contacts will look unnatural; technology has created contacts that are quite natural looking like the ones to the right. The original opaque tints were made out of a single colour; where as the newer model of opaque tints are made with many colors to help achieve a natural look. Enhancement tints are also relatively new and they offer a dramatic look for those with dark or light eyes. Colour contacts come in multiple wear-options. You can buy prescription coloured contacts with different life spans, we currently stock lenses with 90 days and 1 year lifespans, and this starts for when you first open the vile or blister pack. Each can be worn daily and must be removed each night. We recommend that once your lenses have exceeded their recommended life span you simply throw them away.
Getting The Proper Lenses for You

Lens Care Set
An eye exam will verify the health of your eyes and proper measurements will be taken, and ask about samples available. Coloured contact lenses are not for everyone. What works for one person may not for the next. Things your doctor will take into consideration are your eye shape and colour options. Also, if taking care of colour lenses feels like a chore, you may need to consider your decision, although they are pretty simple to care for when you have the correct equipment like that to the left. Deciding on a pair of colour contacts is a fun experience. With the proper brand, colour tint and by following contact maintenance you will have a pair of long-lasting contacts that serve you well. If changing your look through your eye colour interests you then go ahead. There are hundreds of non prescription coloured contact lenses available and there’s bound to be a perfect pair out there for you. Keep in mind that it is worth seeing an optometrist if you have any qualms or concerns about wearing non prescription contact lenses.

Inserting Contact Lenses

Contact Lens Care Set
If you are inserting contact lenses for the first time, it may take you a few goes but with time you will get used to it. There are a few main steps and points to consider when putting in your Halloween contact lenses. Follow the steps below for the correct way to do it. It tends to be easier to put lenses in in a well lit room in front of a mirror and over a clean surface (in case you drop your lens accidentally, if you do make sure you wash it in saline solution and check for damage before you reattempt to put it in your eye).
1. Wash your hands before you start so they are clean and germ free.
2. Put your contact lenses in before you do any make up.
3. Check your contact lenses to make sure they have no rips or tears.
4. Make sure your lenses are clean. Wash them with some saline solution to get rid of any dirt that may get into your eye.
5. Use either your finger or, soft tipped tweezers like the ones in the picture to remove the contact lens from its case, and place it on the top of your index finger.
6. The lens should have the brighter side downwards and the edges of the contact lens should not curve outwards. If they do then the lens is the wrong way round.
7. Use the hand that is holding the contact lens to pull the bottom of your eye down. Look either straight ahead or slightly up. Use your other hand to pull your eyelid up and carefully place the contact lens in your eye, making sure you don’t blink.
8. Make sure the lens is over your iris then release your hands and blink to allow the lens to adjust itself.
9. Repeat these steps for putting the other lens in your other eye.
Once you have put your Halloween contact lenses in, finish off your look with some awesome Halloween makeup and a funky attention grabbing costume. Stand out with bright colours and an imaginative costume for an awesome look.
Removing Contact Lenses
When you need to remove your contact lenses simply follow the steps below.
1. Wash your hands thoroughly so they are clean.
2. Use one or both hands to hold your eye open.
3. Place your index finger on the lens and gently move it to the outer corner of your eye.
4. Pinch the lens gently between your finger and thumb.
5. Lift out of your eye.
6. If you plan to keep your contact lenses, place in a clean contact lens case like the one in the picture above, with plenty of fresh contact lens solution.
Things To Remember
There are a few things to remember when wearing contact lenses. Following the tips below will give your contact lenses the best care and avoid getting any unwanted eye infections.
1. Make sure your hands are always clean when handling your contact lenses or touching your eyes.
2. Do not wear contact lenses that are damaged or torn, these should be thrown away.
3. Always remember to remove your contact lenses, never go to sleep with them in or wear them while swimming.
4. Only wear contact lenses for a maximum of 8 hours.
5. Store them in an appropriate container with fresh saline solution.
6. Always clean your lenses with saline solution before and after wearing. Never clean them with water.
