Red Prescription Contact Lenses

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Red contact lenses are always popular but now for the first time here on YouKnowIt.com we have red prescription contact lenses for you! These red contacts come in vision correcting prescriptions and are just like the clear contact lenses that you would normally get from an optician. They come in lots of common prescriptions and allow you to combine your prescription and a freaky design in one contact lens. We currently have these three red prescription contact lenses and nine other designs, but we will be adding more prescription contact lenses to the online store as soon as possible.

How To Buy Prescription Contact Lenses

To buy prescription contact lenses from YouKnowIt.com you will need a contact lens prescription. You can obtain a copy of your prescription from your optician. If you are a glasses-wearer and have never worn contact lenses before, I recommend visiting your optician for a full contact lens fitting. At the end of this you will be able to request a copy of your prescription. Your contact lens prescription will give a power for each eye. This power indicates the strength of your contact lenses. You may have the same power for both eyes or two different powers.

When you have found your chosen contact lens on the website you will see two dropdown menus, one for each eye. Use these to select the powers indicated on your prescription and voila, you are ready to hit ‘Add To Basket’. Your prescription will also indicate a base curve and lens diameter. All our prescription contact lenses have a base curve of 8.6 and diameter of 14mm, which will fit the majority of people’s eyes. If you have any queries about buying prescription contact lenses ask your optician or drop us an email.

i-Glow UV Contact Lenses

Monday, February 21st, 2011

UV contact lenses are one of the best ways to stand out from the crowd and get yourself noticed. These contact lenses glow under UV light and blacklight, giving you amazing glowing eyes. In daylight they just look like regular coloured lenses, so you can wear UV contact lenses to lots of different places and events. Until now we have only been able to source plain coloured UV contact lenses but we now have a new range: i-Glow UV Contact Lenses. This new range combines different designs with UV colours, so you can have the best of both worlds. The i-Glow range is manufactured here in the UK by EDIT Contact Lenses and they offer excellent quality. They are very comfortable to wear and last for one year, so you can wear them as many times as you like with a one year period.

New UV Contact Lenses Designs

There are twenty-three designs in the i-Glow range and all the designs are unique to i-Glow. They include cat eye contact lenses, demon and vampire lenses, three screen contact lenses and even a Twilight contact lens design in UV. If you are thinking of buying the non-UV versions of any of these lenses, I recommend upgrading to the UV version – you get the extra UV effect and they are the same price as most normal crazy contact lenses.

New Mesh Contact Lenses

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

Mesh contact lenses are an innovative type of contact lens that covers your pupil and still allows you to see. They have proved very popular but up until now they have only been available in three colours: black, white and red. I’m happy to announce that we now have eight new colours of mesh contact lenses. All our new mesh contact lenses are by EDIT Contact Lenses, the only brand of crazy contact lenses made here in the UK. They are excellent quality and have a one year life span, so you can wear them as many times as you like within a one year period.

Coloured Mesh Contact Lenses

Our mesh contact lenses now come in blue, yellow, pink, green, aqua, grey, hazel and violet. The new colours give you so much more scope for Halloween costumes and extreme looks – you can match them to almost any outfit. Personally I love the brighter colours, like the ones shown below. They look so bright and cartoony, perfect for people who like to get themselves noticed.

Are Mesh Contact Lenses Safe?

Mesh contact lenses are safe and comfortable to wear. The mesh design has lots of little holes that you can see through. The effect may make your vision slightly imperfect but our testers report that they can still see very well. They are not suitable for driving or similar activities but absolutely fine for a Halloween costume or party.

ColourVue Vampire Contact Lenses

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

Vampires are always a popular Halloween costume and here at YouKnowIt.com we have a great choice of vampire contact lenses for you. These contact lenses will make your costume extra scary and they are perfect if you want to stand out from the crowd. Obviously some contact lenses are better than others and some brands are known for their higher quality. For me, ColourVue is one of those brands. Their contact lenses are excellent quality and they feel very comfortable to wear. ColourVue vampire contact lenses keep your eyes feeling fresh all day, which is very important when you want to wear a Halloween costume with confidence.

Classic Vampire Contact Lenses

The great thing about vampire lenses is that there are lots of different lenses you can wear – everyone has a different opinion on what vampires’ eyes look like! Red and plain white are classic choices but ColourVue also make some special vampire contact lenses like the one shown on the left. I suggest using a lens that fits in with the overall feel of your vampire costume. Is your vampire look pale and interesting or dark and bloody?

Twilight Vampire Contact Lenses

These days you can’t say ‘vampire’ without coming across Twilight. Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight novels have become hugely successful and the subsequent film adaptations are just as ubiquitous. In Twilight there are two types of vampires: good and bad. The good vampires have golden eyes while the bad vampires have blood red eyes. ColourVue make two Twilight lenses so whichever type of Twilight vampire you want to dress up as, they have the perfect lens for you.

ColourVue Blue Contact Lenses

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

If you want beautiful blue eyes, I recommend taking a look at ColourVue blue contact lenses. ColourVue produce some of the very best contact lenses currently available. They are known for their high quality and excellent comfort factor. All ColourVue contact lenses are made from Hydrogel, a patented material that is very soft and breathable. It ensures that your eyes can breathe and stay hydrated all day long. Your eyes will stay comfortable and feel fresh even after hours of wearing contact lenses. This in turn combats redness and ensures that you are not compromising the health of your eyes. There are many different ColourVue blue contact lenses available, so there is a great choice of designs.

Natural ColourVue Blue Contact Lenses

I believe that you get what you pay for with contact lenses and ColourVue’s selection of natural lenses is a case in point. Their natural look lenses use subtle blending that mimics the colouration of a real eye. They also have lots of different designs to suit your natural eye colour. Whether your colouring is pale or dark you will be able to find a pair of blue contact lenses that really suit you.

Cat Contact Lenses

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

Cat contact lenses are a fantastic way to create a dramatic look easily. Cat contact lenses are coloured lenses that have a black almond shape in the centre. When you wear the lenses, this makes it look like you have the vertical pupils of a cat. Cat’s eye contact lenses give a very convincing effect and by changing the shape of your pupil, they really transform the overall look of your eyes. Cat contact lenses are perfect for cat themed Halloween costumes but they can also be used to recreate the look of snake and reptile eyes or for a wide range of costumes unrelated to cats.

Realistic Cat Contact Lenses

Yellow Cat Contact Lenses

If you want to create realistic looking cat’s eyes, it is important to choose a realistic looking colour. Most cats have golden or amber eyes, although green and blue are also common. These yellow cat contact lenses by ColourVue are ideal for creating this realistic look. These lenses are excellent quality and very comfortable to wear. Like all ColourVue lenses they have a high water content that ensures your eyes stay hydrated and feel fresh all day.

Fantasy Cat Contact Lenses

Cat contact lenses are not just available in realistic colours; they also come in a huge choice of designs. Below are just a few of the cat contacts that we have here at YouKnowIt.com, which you can use to create endless different costumes and cosplay.

Spooky White Contact Lenses

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

White contact lenses will instantly transform your eyes and they give a really creepy effect. There are many different ways that you can wear white contact lenses, from Halloween costumes and cosplay to extreme fashions, clubbing looks and theatrical work. Most white contact lenses block out your natural eye colour, which looks really spooky and scary. They are great for creating horror-inspired outfits, effective Halloween costumes and really freaking out your friends.

White Out Contact Lenses

White Out Contact Lenses

White out contact lenses are plain white lenses that make your whole eye look white, as pictured here. These solid white lenses cover up your natural eye colour, leaving just your pupil in a white eye. They look very bold and scary, perfect for shocking style. White out contact lenses are a real classic and you can wear them for lots of different Halloween costumes, including witches, vampires, zombies, demons and movie characters.

Patterned White Contact Lenses

There are literally hundreds of different patterned white contact lenses available and here at YouKnowIt.com we have great selection. These lenses have the same shock factor of blocking out your eye colour, but they often have black designs that stand out even more. Below are just three of the many different white lenses we have, including one of my favourites – White Screen Contact Lenses. These lenses completely cover up your iris and pupil, which looks very scary. You can still see while wearing them, thanks to lots of tiny holes in the lens.

Latest Vampire Contact Lenses

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

Vampire contact lenses are the perfect way to create a convincing vampire costume, whether you’re going to a Halloween party, dressing up for a convention or just looking to freak out your friends. There are hundreds of different vampire contact lenses available but we have three new vampire lenses here at You Know It, all designed to give you a different look for a specific type of vampire. All the myths, legends and movies have different ideas about when a vampire’s eyes look like but most people agree that vampire contact lenses should look scary, bloodthirsty and beautiful – after all, the best vampires are as alluring as they are deadly!

Red Vampire Contact Lenses

Blood red is a classic colour for vampire lenses and these two designs are great examples. The Volturi Vampire Contact Lenses are inspired by the evil vampires in Twilight, while the other design gives you a more general but no less dazzling vampire look. Both these vampire lenses are by ColourVue, a brand known for their exceptional quality and comfort. They are made from a special material called ‘hydrogel’, which allows your eyes to breath and keeps them feeling fresh all day long. They are very comfortable to wear and will last a whole year once you open them.

Blue Vampire Contact Lenses

These blue vampire contact lenses are quite a departure from most vampire lenses but they give a truly gorgeous look. They are inspired by the vampires in the Underworld movies, in particular the main character, a vampire called Selene. Their ice blue colour lights up your whole face and they look amazing for Halloween. These lenses are also by ColourVue and are great to wear.

New Movie Contact Lenses

Monday, December 6th, 2010

We all love dressing up and movie characters make amazing costume inspirations. If you want to recreate your favourite character’s costume, then a pair of movie contact lenses will give your costume that extra special, authentic look. We have two brand new movie contact lenses here at You Know It this month: Sauron’s Eye and Selene from Underworld. These movie lenses are ideal for Halloween costumes and you can also wear them for cosplay, conventions or any movie themed event.

Underworld Movie Contact Lenses

selene underworld

Underworld Selene Contact Lenses

These gorgeous blue contact lenses are inspired by the ice blue eyes of Selene, the main character in the Underworld movies. Underworld is set in a world of vampires and werewolves, who are at war with one another. Selene is a vampire. Over the course of the two Underworld movies she discovers her true parentage, battles supernatural creatures and goes on a voyage of self-discovery. Selene has stunning pale blue eyes just like these Underworld Selene Contact Lenses. These contact lenses make it easy to recreate her look – just pair with pale make up, a black wig and sexy leather outfit.

Sauron Movie Contact Lenses

The Eye of Sauron

Saurons Eye Contact Lenses

These Sauron’s Eye Contact Lenses are perfect for the Lord of the Rings fan in you. They look just like the Eye of Sauron, as shown to the left. Sauron is the primary antagonist of the Lord of the Rings series, but for much of the story he can only manifest himself as the Eye of Sauron, which is described as “rimmed with fire, but was itself glazed, yellow as a cat’s, watchful and intent, and the black slit of its pupil opened on a pit, a window into nothing.” These contact lenses look just like the Eye of Sauron and they would be ideal for a Sauron costume or cosplay.

Werewolf Contact Lenses

Saturday, December 4th, 2010

If you want to create a really scary look with contact lenses, why not check out werewolf contact lenses. Werewolf lenses will give you an amazing look and they are ideal for Halloween costumes. There are many different types of werewolf contact lenses, mostly because no one can agree on what a werewolf’s eyes would look like in real life. Most werewolf contact lenses have a bright colour such as yellow, amber, green or purple. They use dramatic details and attention-grabbing designs to really jump out at you.

Green Werewolf Contact Lenses

Green Werewolf Contact Lenses

Green Werewolf Contact Lenses

Green werewolf contact lenses will give you a very bold look thanks to the bright green colours usually used. Green is a colour that always stands out and demands attention. The contact lenses shown here are one of my favourite designs for werewolves. They use a bright green colour with a jagged black outline. This makes them really dramatic and is sure to help you stand out in the crowd.

Amber Werewolf Contact Lenses

Orange Werewolf Contact Lenses

Orange Werewolf Contact Lenses

Real wolves usually have amber eyes, so amber coloured werewolf contact lenses offer you a more ‘realistic’ look. Or as realistic as you can get when talking about werewolves! Because no one actually has amber or yellow eyes, these contact lenses instantly set you apart and make you the centre of attention. These Amber Werewolf Contact Lenses are by ColourVue and they are excellent quality. Like all ColourVue lenses they are soft and breathable. They allow your eyes to breath and keep them feeling fresh all day long.
