Halloween (and Halloween parties) comes once a year, but Halloween makeup is for all year round! For some people, Halloween is a bigger deal than Christmas. And for those of you seeking Halloween party ideas make YouKnowIt your first stop for spook-tacular inspiration.
Our lenses look fantastic when worn simply by themselves, but can really make an impact when combined with striking makeup. And, conversely, if you’ve already made up your mind to be a zombie or vampire for Halloween or that upcoming fancy dress, then the best way to enhance your creation is by the addition of a pair of wild and wonderful colored contact lenses! For instance, your vampire outfit and makeup will turn a few heads with the right vampire contact lenses. You are sure to strike fear into everyone who is caught in your mesmeric stare!
The same goes for any zombie or gothic look you wish to achieve. Anyone can apply some simple cream makeup and look as pale and blood-starved as Dracula on a bad night, but the eyes are the windows to the soul – even if your character has no soul!
Halloween is still some months off, but you will want to decide on your perfect persona well in advance, and try out a few makeup and lens combinations to see what is right. After all, your outfit has to be the most shocking of the party!
Quick Makeup Tutorial
• Go for makeup rather than expensive foam prosthetics. It takes far less time to simply paint yourself, and you will have full facial movement.
• For that dead pale look as with the wonderful skeleton girl in the photo all that is needed is inexpensive liquid foundation and white cream makeup, available from most party shops.
• After you have painted your face and achieved that ashen look, use eye shadow to create deep shadowed eye sockets as well as sunken cheeks. Apply the eyeshadow around the eyes with a fluffy brush. You can bring the shading down the sides of your nose to make it appear smaller. Mascara and savage red lipstick complete the makeup application.
• If you want a more professional look, apply ivory foundation first, followed by translucent finisher. Apply to the face with a foundation brush or a slanted kabuki brush. Those skeletal details can be achieved by black cream makeup.
Colored Lenses Complete your Look
And now the finishing touch…colored contact lenses! You can use any lenses from our range of scary lenses. We have enough fabulously freaky Halloween contact lenses to make your head spin – so go have a look at our incredible range. Be it black out contact lenses, blood red contact lenses, or our ever-popular zombie contact lenses, you can’t fail to find the perfect pair for your unique Halloween look. Our mirrored lenses look especially striking, and will give you a look similar to our favorite skeleton girl.
Weird and wonderful events are a fantastic way to show off your colored contact lenses and have a fantastic time. Freaky contacts are always fun, but the fun is supercharged when used as part of a themed event, where you can slip into a whole new personality and really go wild.
Zombie Lenses for a Zombie Wedding
Zombie Themed Wedding
It’s not every day you see a throng of growling, grey-eyed undead figures shambling their way along an urban setting. But that is exactly what happened in London earlier this year when young Liverpool couple, Jennifer Jones and Rob Blackmore, decided to claw at the face of convention and tie the knot in the UK’s first zombie wedding.
The couple, their guests, and even the ‘priest’ were completely and disgustingly decked-out in delightfully-dreary attire, grey skin paint, and soulless eyes. The event was a complete success, and the party afterwards was anything but ‘dead’.
Have fun with your Halloween contact lenses! You don’t have to wait to get married. Host a zombie-themed party or organize a ‘zombie walk’ down your local streets for Halloween or perhaps for charity. But remember, it’s those pale, undead eyes say ‘zombie’—rather than a horde of vagabonds wandering about risking arrest—and so choose from YouKnowIt’s amazing range of zombie lenses and make the zombie apocalypse a reality!
Frankenstein and Dracula are dead (as in undead). But their iconic characters are constantly reincarnating, thanks to movie remakes. And not just in the movies. When Halloween comes around or yet another themed party, you’re bound to find a cemetery’s worth of Frankies and Dracs, each brought to spectacular non-life with a nifty pair of Halloween Contact Lenses.
Dracula Halloween Contact Lenses

Dracula Face Contact Lenses
As for Dracula, the good Count has been depicted on celluloid since almost the beginning of the movie era. In 1922, the German expressionist film, Nosferatu, was the first on-screen appearance of everybody’s favorite bloodsucker – despite the fact that the producers hadn’t even procured the rights to Bram Stoker’s original book, or even the usage of the name, ‘Dracula’. But the phenomenon was firmly set in stone from that point onwards, and, a decade later, Bela Lugosi took on the role that made him famous in the 1931 Universal shocker, Dracula. In the 1960s, Christopher Lee became almost as celebrated for his own striking Dracula interpretation in a string of successful Hammer movies.

The lumbering, electrically-charged man-of-many-parts, Frankenstein’s monster (often incorrectly dubbed simply ‘Frankenstein’) is just as legendary. While many look to yet another German expressionist film as his first movie incarnation—The Golem (1915)—it is Universal’s ground-breaking 1931 flick, Frankenstein, that burned the image of the flat-topped man-made monster into the public’s eye. Whenever people dress up as him, it is always the Karloff look that they try to achieve. But whichever of these horror icons you choose to emulate, have fun and interpret your look in your own way. And a great way to do that is by choosing colored contact lenses. Browse our fantastic range at YouKnowIt.com and knock ‘em dead.

There are events and then there are events. And then there are zombie events. If you haven’t heard, they do exist, and, just like the fictional shambling hordes themselves, are growing in number. Want to dress the part and get involved? Halloween Contact Lenses as the final touch to your zombie ensemble.
Just imagine it – you leave your home one morning for school or work, orange juice or coffee recently gulped, and there before you are hundreds upon hundreds of moaning, groaning undead citizens dragging themselves down the avenue. Not exactly something you see every day. But that could be because you’re not looking hard enough.
This is a ‘zombie crawl’ (or zombie walk). From New York to Copenhagen, cities have been witnessing these annual fan events for the past decade.
Zombie Halloween Contact Lenses
But it doesn’t stop there. As well as annual zombie crawls, there are zombie survival camps. Sign up, grab a weapon, and prepare to be attacked! By actors of course, all in the trademark torn clothes, bloody limbs, and green-eyed stares we have come to expect from the undead. During the week, attendees learn how to shoot a crossbow, coordinate survival techniques, and to best to outrun zombie invaders.
But if you simply don’t have the time or inclination to find and participate in large scale events such as these, there is always the tried-and-tested Halloween party. Arrive in gory style dressed in blood-stained rags, torn skin, and hair that might not look out of place on a coconut. Or why not throw a totally zombie-themed party? The ripped clothing and fake gore will be easy enough to achieve. But what about those cloudy, undead eyes?
YouKnowIt.com has every possible variety of colored contact lenses, including a delightfully dead-eyed zombie lens range. Pick ‘em out, pop ‘em in, and knock ‘em dead. A bite to the face will work just as well.

What decent zombie movie would be complete without the dead-eyed gazes of thousands of marauding brain-eaters? Had the special effects wizards not bothered with the application of carefully selected colored contact lenses, the zombie hordes would just look like a bunch of drunks on their way home on a Saturday night. Be it Night of the Living Dead, Zombieland, or the eagerly anticipated film adaptation of the Max Brooks novel, World War Z, you can bet that every staggering deadhead will be sporting those classic soulless stares.

Hollywood special effects house?
