Poor Robert Pattinson – even after wearing them for years he still can’t get on with his Twilight contact lenses! The Twilight hunk has worn coloured contact lenses for all three Twilight movies so far but he says he still can’t put them in on his own. Apparently the make up artists have to hold him down and put in the lenses for him! Of his Twilight contact lenses Robert says “Everyone else has figured out how to do it, and then there’s two people holding me down because I can’t do it myself… It’s so embarrassing for me – after so many years, it’s still a process every single morning.”
I admit that putting in contact lenses can be fiddly but I don’t think I have ever heard of someone having to be held down to put them in. Personally I think someone else putting in my contact lenses would be much more stressful than doing it yourself – I can put in any contact lens but the idea of staying still while someone else puts their fingers in my eyes really freaks me out!
Tips For Your Twilight Contact Lenses
Robert Pattinson might still be having trouble but it is actually very easy to put in your own contact lenses. The trick is to hold your eye open properly and to conquer the instinct to shut your eyes when the lenses get near them. Perhaps Robert has just got used to being held down by make up artists! In case you are having trouble putting in your contact lenses, I have put together some simple tips on putting in your contact lenses:
- Put the lenses into a screw top contact lens case before you start. This is the easiest type of case to pick up the lenses from and much easier that picking them out of the vials they come in.
- Start with everything laid out in front of you: the lenses, tissue, tweezers if you use them and a free-standing or wall mirror.
- Choose a well-lit area, ideally a bathroom mirror with a bright overhead light. Having a clean, smooth surface underneath your face is also a good idea – if you drop a lens you will be able to find it easily. I put in my lenses over the bathroom sink – with the plug in.
- Use a tissue to gently dry the eye area. Then place one lens on your fingertip and ensure the rest of your hands are dry. This will make it easier to hold your eyelids open.
- Trim your nails – long nails could poke your eyes or tear the lens.
- Use your free fingers to gently hold your eye open. You should be able to see the white all around your iris.
- Look straight ahead as you put in the lens – I look into my own eyes in the mirror. If you can’t bear to look straight ahead, look upwards.
- Breathe out slowly before you put the lens in – this will calm you down and steady your hand.
- If you can’t help closing your eye, try it without the lens. Practise holding your eye open and bringing your finger tip close to your eye without flinching.
- Once the lens is in your eye, keep your eye open and look to the left, right, down and up. This helps the lens to settle on your eye. Then blink.
- And if you don’t at first succeed, try and try again! Putting in contact lenses takes practice and it can be fiddly at first. But with a little practice anyone can learn to do it! If you have tried many times and it still does not work, ask your local optician to help you or give you a demonstration – they are the experts after all.

The popularity of the Twilight Saga continues unabated and I am pleased to say that we have a great choice of Twilight contact lenses for you. Twilight lenses are ideal for Twilight costumes, conventions, special Twilight events or for anyone who wants the beautiful eyes that Twilight vampires have. In the Twilight Saga, vampires are described as having either golden or red eyes, based on whether they feed on humans or not. This means that most of the good vampires have golden eyes, while the evil vampires have blood red eyes.
We have a choice of both red and golden Twilight contact lenses, so you can recreate both looks. These lenses instantly change your eye colour and they are very effective. They look the same on different eye colours, so you don’t need to worry about your eye colour being too light or dark for the lenses.

Vampires are always a popular Halloween costume and here at YouKnowIt.com we have a great choice of vampire contact lenses for you. These contact lenses will make your costume extra scary and they are perfect if you want to stand out from the crowd. Obviously some contact lenses are better than others and some brands are known for their higher quality. For me, ColourVue is one of those brands. Their contact lenses are excellent quality and they feel very comfortable to wear. ColourVue vampire contact lenses keep your eyes feeling fresh all day, which is very important when you want to wear a Halloween costume with confidence.
Classic Vampire Contact Lenses
The great thing about vampire lenses is that there are lots of different lenses you can wear – everyone has a different opinion on what vampires’ eyes look like! Red and plain white are classic choices but ColourVue also make some special vampire contact lenses like the one shown on the left. I suggest using a lens that fits in with the overall feel of your vampire costume. Is your vampire look pale and interesting or dark and bloody?

Twilight Vampire Contact Lenses
These days you can’t say ‘vampire’ without coming across Twilight. Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight novels have become hugely successful and the subsequent film adaptations are just as ubiquitous. In Twilight there are two types of vampires: good and bad. The good vampires have golden eyes while the bad vampires have blood red eyes. ColourVue make two Twilight lenses so whichever type of Twilight vampire you want to dress up as, they have the perfect lens for you.

Recreate the Twilight look this winter with a pair of Twilight contacts. In the Twilight series of films, the vampires have various different colour eyes depending on whether they are good or bad. This gives them a very particular look but it is one that you can easily recreate. Twilight contacts come in two main colours, designed to emulate the different types of vampires in the movies. These contacts are easy to wear and give incredible results just like a Twilight vampire’s eyes.
Golden Twilight Contacts

Gold Twilight Contacts
The good vampires in the Twilight series drink only animal blood and they want to exist peacefully alongside humans. These vampires have golden topaz eyes that are very beautiful. To recreate their eyes you will need a pair of golden Twilight contacts like the ones pictured here. You can buy this type of Twilight contact lens from many different shops and brands but I recommend these ColourVue Twilight Contact Lenses. They have a gorgeous multi-tone design that looks very realistic. They are also vibrant enough to work on even very dark eyes.
Red Twilight Contacts

Red Twilight Contacts
In Twilight, the evil vampires have blood red eyes, which get brighter when they have just fed on someone. This look is easy to recreate and you can wear either plain red contacts or more realistic ones like these Funky Eyes Twilight Contact Lenses. These lenses have a gorgeous deep red colour and black detailing that really draws attention to your eyes.
